Friday midday blog: Rain/Flurries/Colder Temps. Thanksgiving storms system as well!

Happy Friday!  I hope you have had a great work week and ready for the weekend.  I am always ready for the weekends, but they fly by super fast.  I am really fighting a migraine today, but what is new.  I have had daily migraines my entire life.  Every single day I have some symptom of a migraine, but most days I can manage them.  Then about one day per week they just get me.  About once a month they really just put me completely down.  I would love to go one down without the migraines.  I do think I feel a little better after venting a little bit, lol.

We have a little powerhouse wave rolling through the area.  This is mainly staying north of us but we will see some showers and much colder temperatures will work in.  Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and the Great Lakes are going to get a quick burst of very heavy snows.  Some areas will pick up a foot of snow today, tonight and tomorrow.  Take a look at the radar below.

As this system continues to work in through the afternoon hours, we will see clouds continue to thicken up.  As the cold front works in tonight, we will see scattered showers developing through the evening hours.  Between 6pm and Midnight, we will have scattered showers across portions of the viewing area.  You can see the scattered showers on the map below.

10 pm

Around 12-1am the cold front will pass through with very windy NW winds.

Front midnight

As the front passes through, most of the rain will work east with it.  However, we could still have a few light showers behind the front that could mix with a little light snow.

3am precip

I put the rain snow line on the map for you at 3am.  Of course this won’t be a big deal.  The colder air slams south and check out the our high temperatures for Saturday.

Sat pm temps

Much colder temperatures settle in for the weekend.  Our next BIG system works in Wednesday, Thanksgiving and Black Friday.  This is going to give us showers and thunderstorms and possibly some icy weather by Black Friday.  This is something I want to watch closely.  I will have much more on this in the next few days.  Plus you can always get all of my long range information on headypattern.com

My winter forecast will air on Monday night at 10pm.  I will also do and extended version here on my blog.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Saturday:  Cooler with chances for showers, drizzle, freezing drizzle or snow.

November 29th-December 5th:

A cold first half of the week with some wintry weather chances on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.  This all depends on the track of some weak waves.  Mild temperatures return with rain chances on Thursday and Friday.

December 6th-12th:

Another cold start to the week with a slight chance for snow on Monday.  Mild temperatures will return for the second half of the week.  We will see rain chances for the weekend.

December 13th-19th:

Mild with rain chances to start the week.  As colder air works in we could see rain or snow by the middle of the week.  Cool temperatures for the second half of the week with a second system and rain or snow chances by the weekend.
