Monday Evening November 30th Update

Good Monday evening, everyone. As most of us headed back to work and school today, we had to deal with another cool, wet and cloudy day with highs only topping out around 47°. THANKFULLY, if you’ve been asking for since last week, the sun will return after we start clearing the skies out tonight. As far as as rain or snow, nothing in our area on the radar below…

The last of this stubborn system has pushed off to the east of us as you can see on the surface map below. Behind it, we’re staying dry and calm for the rest of the week…

As skies clear tonight with a light wind, that will mean it’ll be cold to start our Tuesday morning. Let’s go with partly cloudy skies Tuesday morning with lows starting around 30° in our area…

tuesdayam

We’re expecting partly to mostly sunny skies as we go into Tuesday afternoon, so it’ll be nice to actually see the sun return after we were socked in with the clouds for quite a while…

With a light west breeze under partly to mostly sunny skies, afternoon highs should have no problem topping out around 49° in Joplin. For the rest of the area, we’ll trend warmer with highs in the upper 40s to near 50°…

tuesdaypm

A weak wave sneaks in from the north on Wednesday and that will temporarily cool us back into the middle 40s for Wednesday. Even though we’ll still see cold to chilly mornings for the rest of the week, the 50s return for Thursday and Friday. We’ll go for highs around 60° on Saturday before the 50s return by next Sunday and Monday. Going into next week, we’re watching a system that’ll try to work in by the early to middle part of next week. For next weekend (not this weekend), we’re watching for a bigger storm system to work in. At least we’ll have a nice and calm stretch before another active setup tries to return. For the latest on the long range forecast and the pattern, Doug has you covered on  headypattern.com

Have a good night and a great Tuesday!

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

December 8th-12th:

A chilly start to the week with rain and snow chances by the early to middle part of the week.  Mild temperatures will return for the second half of the week with rain chances returning for the weekend.

December 13th-19th:

Mild with rain chances to start the week.  As colder air works in we could see rain or snow by the middle of the week.  Cool temperatures for the second half of the week with a second system and rain or snow chances by the weekend.

December 20th-26th:

Most of the week will be on the cold side with slight chances for snow on Sunday.  Better chances for snow will work in with a storm system on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Staying cool but dry for the holiday.

When I say hot:  90+

When I say warm:  75-89

When I say mild:  60-74

Chilly:  50-60

Cool:  40-50

Cold:  40 and below
