Monday PM December 7th Update

Good Monday evening, everyone. Nick here with the blog update at Doug’s request tonight. This was not a bad day to start the new work/school week, especially in early December! After a cold start in the upper 20s and lower 30s, we rebounded into the lower 60s with partly to mostly sunny skies today. We’ll continue keeping things quiet and mild for the next few days, but we have to get through another cool night. At least we’re staying dry on the radar below…

We don’t have any big systems to worry about for the next few days, so we’ll keep things quiet for Tuesday. Partly sunny skies for most of the day in our area…

cloudstuesday

With a south wind at 10-15 mph, we’ll have no problem warming back up after sunrise. After we start near 40° Tuesday morning, highs on the Future Track below will warm back into the lower 60s. Joplin should top out around 63°…

We continue with lower to middle 60s for Wednesday and Thursday and morning lows in the middle 40s. We could push near 69° for a high on Friday, but that’s when our next system starts to work in. Our next system could start bringing in the chance for a few showers late Friday afternoon and into Friday evening. It’ll be Friday night and going into Saturday that our next system will give us the best chance for rain (even some t-storms) this week…

We’ll quiet down for next Sunday and Monday before another system works in for next Tuesday and Wednesday. At this point, Doug is thinking that we’ll have rain chances on Tuesday and some snow chances by next Wednesday. So, that’s something we’ll keep our eyes on as we go through the next several days. The long-range forecast through New Year’s Day can be found below. If you want the latest thoughts from Doug on the pattern, just head over to headypattern.com

Have a good night and a great Tuesday!

Nick

LONG RANGE FORECAST IS BELOW BASED OFF THE HEADY PATTERN:

Here is your 7-day forecast:

Remember that you can sign up for WeatherCall by clicking the WeatherCall link at the top of the page. WeatherCall, in our opinion, is the best tool on the market to keep you safe during severe weather.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

December 13th-19th:

A cool start to the week with rain and snow chances on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Staying cool through the week with another system on Friday and Saturday with addition rain and snow chances.

December 20th-26th:

We start the week with cool temperatures and slight chances for rain and snow.  Temperatures will warm up a bit for Christmas Eve with rain chances.  We should cool down for Christmas with slight chances for rain and snow.  We will stay cool the rest of the week.

December 27th-January 2nd:

Rain and snow chances return on Sunday and Monday with our next storm system working in.  We will have a brief break before the next system works in with rain and snow chances on Wednesday and Thursday.  Then cool and dry the rest of the week.
