Thursday PM December 17th Update

Good Thursday evening, everyone. Nick here with the blog update at Doug’s request. It was definitely cool for everyone with highs in the lower to middle 40s across the region. As of this evening, we’re dealing with cloudy skies and even a few light rain showers and even some flakes of snow. It’s not looking like a big deal there’s not much behind it on the radar below…

So, don’t be surprised if some of you see a few drops of rain or a few flakes of snow. It’s not looking like a big deal by any means. As we go through the overnight and into Friday morning, the clouds will eventually break apart and it’ll get cold. The temperature forecast below isn’t too far off. We’re expecting lows to drop near 23° by the start of the morning commute…

We’ll go through with mostly sunny skies for Friday afternoon. Despite that and southwest winds through the day at 10-15 mph, it won’t mean quite a warm up. Highs Friday will only top out back in the lower to middle 40s. We expect most spots to top out back around 43°…

We’re still on track to have our next fast moving system work in mainly on Sunday and lingering possibly into Monday morning. You can see that upcoming system below planning to work in through Sunday…

As of now, this system looks like rain. As for the week of Christmas, we’ll have another system to watch Wednesday and into Christmas Eve. It looks like rain chances late Wednesday and into Christmas Eve morning, but we’ll continue to watch that and fine tweak that forecast if necessary.

Of course you can get all of Doug’s long range thoughts on headypattern.com

LONG RANGE FORECAST IS BELOW BASED OFF THE HEADY PATTERN:

Here is your 7-day forecast:

Remember that you can sign up for WeatherCall by clicking the WeatherCall link at the top of the page. WeatherCall, in our opinion, is the best tool on the market to keep you safe during severe weather.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Wednesday:  Rain chances with slight chances for snow.

Christmas Eve:  Mostly cloudy and cool

Christmas:  Partly sunny and cool.

Next Saturday:  Partly sunny and chilly.

December 27th-January 2nd:

Rain and snow chances to start the week.  By the middle of the week we will dry out and warm up a bit to start the new year.

Jan 3rd-9th:

Mild with rain and some snow chances early in the week.  Colder temperatures work in for the middle of the week and stick around through the second half of the week.
