New Years Eve Blog: A look back at the years! How long will it be cold?

Good Thursday Afternoon!  I hope you are having a great New Years Eve so far.  Mine is just a normal day with watching my son and getting some work done.  I am going to head into work here in a little bit and do the normal thing.  After work I will ring in 2016!  2016, wow, is that even possible.  I was born in December of 1978, so I don’t remember the 70s or early 80s.  I don’t remember Reagan getting shot, but I don have many small memories from the early 80s.  This biggest event or national event that I really remember is the Challenger exploding when I was in 1st grade in January, 1986.  Even though I grew up in the 80s, I consider myself I 90s kid as that is when I was a teenager.  So many things happened in the 1990s.  The cell phone explosion was huge.  When I was in school, you didn’t call or text people, my friends would say beep me.  Most of my friends had pagers.  It wasn’t until the late 90s that my friends really started getting cell phones. Now when I started driving in December, 1994, I did have that huge bag plug in car phone that my parents gave me.  I thought I was pretty cool to have that monster.  The internet really took off in the mid 90s, but I had no clue what it was.  I remember asking one of my friends at my first job as a busboy what is the American Online thing people are talking about.  My very first class in college was astronomy.  The class had about 200 kids in it and the professor asked who had and email account.  About 3 kids raised their hand.  He said we all had to get an account today and email him something which I can’t remember by the end of the day.  This completely freaked me out and I dropped the class, can you believe that?  In the 2000s, we move to tablets and smart phones.  We have vacuums that are robots and do it for you.  What is next?  Make sure you sit back for a few minutes each day and enjoy the time flying by.  Ok I am done with my rant.

It is still cold out, but we are warming up.  Take a look at the radar below.

Not much is going on outside and it will stay calm for the next few days.  It will be dry tonight but cold.

New Years

Temperatures will warm into the 40s over the weekend to near 50 early next week.  Our next storm system moves in by the middle of next week.  Until then, enjoy the dry conditions.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Jan 3rd-9th:

Chilly but dry through the beginning of the week.  Rain chances increase by the middle of the week.  Rain and snow chances for the weekend.

Jan 10th-16th:

Cool with rain and snow chances to start the week.  Our next system moves in on Wednesday with rain and snow chances on Wednesday and Thursday.  A second system works in for the weekend.
