Tuesday Midday Blog: Rain and snow in the forecast.

I hope you are having a great Tuesday so far.  Mine has been pretty good, I am just getting a few things done around the house this morning.  I have several errands I need to run and then head to work.  I just got done looking over some of the latest data that has rolled in.  Not much has changed over the past 24 hours or so, but we are going to have a few waves rolling through this week.  Actually the colder air is really going to let loose this weekend and stick around for a while.  It is going to feel like winter time.  Take a look at the radar below.

We will see clouds increasing late today and tonight as our first wave heads toward us.  This will give us a little light wintry mix late tonight and tomorrow morning.  However, this isn’t looking like a big deal.

Wednesday 500

Here is the upper level map for tomorrow.  You can see the areas of yellow.  This is all of the weak waves rolling in.  We don’t have one organized system but weak waves.

Precip tonight

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a light mix late tonight into Wednesday morning.  However, this shouldn’t be a big deal.  Then we should see some light showers for tomorrow.  As our main wave works through on Thursday, we will see a better chance for showers.

Precip Thursday

These will still be light, but showers working through.  Our next wave works through on Saturday with much colder air pushing south.

Saturday 500

You can see the yellows and reds across Oklahoma.  This will produce some chances for light snow across the region.  This is something to watch.  Just something to watch.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:

Cold most of the week with slight chances for snow on Wednesday and then again on Friday and Saturday.

Jan. 17th-23rd:

Cold most of the week with slight chances for snow on Tuesday.  Another system with rain and snow chances on Friday and Saturday once again.
