Friday Afternoon January 15th Update – Getting Cold Again…

Good Friday afternoon, everyone. Well, Mother Nature certainly reminded us that it’s still winter around here! We went from being spoiled with highs in the 60s yesterday to a much cooler day for us today. Even with on and off cloud cover around, there’s nothing close to rain or snow showing up on the radar below.

Even with the northwest wind at 10-20 mph today, I think we can get highs in most spots in the lower to middle 40s. That’s actually where we should be topping out for the middle of January…

We turn colder for Saturday. Even though skies will be partly sunny, we’ll start cold in the lower to middle 20s and top out around 36° tomorrow…

We stay cold Sunday with a weak system passing by. It doesn’t look terribly impressive, but it’ll at least give us a slight chance for a few snow showers late Sunday…

After we get past Martin Luther King Day, we’ll see another system bring a shot for snow on Tuesday as we stay cold…

Beyond Tuesday, we stay quiet on Wednesday until we head into Thursday. Sticking with Doug’s pattern, we have to watch a system closely by Thursday and into next weekend. That system could bring a mix of rain and snow our way, but we’ll continue to fine tune that forecast until it gets here.

LONG RANGE FORECAST IS BELOW BASED OFF THE HEADY PATTERN:

Here is your 7-day forecast:

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:

Rain and snow chances increase on Wednesday and Thursday.  This could be a fairly strong system and needs to be watched.  Turning colder for the weekend.

January 24th-30th:

Mainly a cool week with rain and snow chances on Monday and Tuesday.  The rest of the week should be mainly dry.

January 31st-February 6th:

A mild start to the week with rain on Monday and Tuesday.  Turning cooler with slight chances for snow on Thursday and Friday.
