Monday Night Blog: Winter Weather Advisory for Frz. Drizzle, Sleet and Snow no Tuesday

Good Monday Evening!  I hope you are having a great week so far.  Mine has been pretty good.  My son and I hung out most of the day as I think most kids had the day off for MLK day.  To bad the weather wasn’t warmer where we could get outside and enjoy a nice day.  We had another cold day for us today and it looks like the cold temperatures will be sticking around.  We do have another wave working in for us on Tuesday.  Take a look at this system already developing on the radar.

We will see freezing drizzle picking up during the morning.  During the afternoon, sleet and snow will increase across the region.  I think the heaviest would be late afternoon and evening.

Tuesday 500

Here is the weak wave rolling through.  Here is a look at the system pushing through during the evening hours.

Tuesday evening precip

During the evening hours, snow will continue and taper during the late evening hours.

Tuesday night precip

You can see by midnight, most of this has pushed off toward the east.  Snowfall amounts will be low, but still slick spots definitely possible.

Along and north of I-44:  Around an inch with isolated 2″ amounts

South of I-44:  1″ or less.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:

Cool with chances for rain or snow on Tuesday.  Staying cool most of the week with rain chances on Saturday.

January 31st-February 6th:

A mild start to the week with rain on Monday and Tuesday.  Turning cooler with some snow chances on Thursday and Friday.

Feb 7th-13th:

A cold start to the week with slight chances for rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Staying cool the rest of the week with rain or snow chances on Friday.
