Wednesday Evening Blog: More freezing drizzle, latest updated blog!

Good Wednesday evening!  I hope you are all having a great week!  Mine has been super busy but pretty good so far.  I was at the Joplin business expo for a while today and had to run by the doc. as well.  I am trying out a few new migraine treatments, I am hoping they work.  Plus I have this awful tendonitis in my thumb and wrist that I have no clue how I got.  This being 37 thing is rough!

I hope everyone was safe with all of the slick roads over the past 24 hours.  We have more freezing drizzle that is working through and will stick around for us tonight.  Take a look at the radar below.

The radar is just picking up on the heavier bands of snow.  Actually it isn’t evening snow.  Here the snow is evaporating before it hits the surface, then it hits a layer of moisture right above the surface which gives us freezing drizzle.  Where you see the heavier bands will be heavier drizzle.  The other areas will see lighter drizzle.  But again we will see some slick spots on the roads for us tonight and in the morning.  I do think a heavier batch of freezing drizzle and also mixing with snow will roll in after midnight.

2 AM

Due to the moisture picking up after midnight, the freezing drizzle and bursts of snow showers will increase across the region.  We will continue to see a few snow showers on Thursday, but this wave will quickly weaken.  Let me show you why.

Thursday 500

You can see the wave over us, but you can also see one over Texas.  The one over Texas becomes the dominant wave and starts taking off.  This causes ours to quickly fall apart and leaves us with a few snow showers and cold temperatures.  This southern storm becomes a huge snow storm and rolls up the eastern coast.

Friday AM Precip

On Friday morning you can see this storm developing into a big snow maker.  For all of my long range details and forecast out into March check out headypattern.com

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Cool with chances for rain or snow on Tuesday.  Staying cool most of the week with rain chances on Saturday.
