January 21st Afternoon Update – The Freezing Drizzle and Clouds Continue…

Good Thursday afternoon, everyone. We continue to be stuck with a stubborn system that won’t get rid of the cloud cover and freezing drizzle outside. That’s why most of us are still under a winter weather advisory until midnight Friday. The spots of freezing drizzle aren’t showing up on the radar below, but at least this system is keeping the snow north of us…

I don’t expect us to get much warmer today. As we continue with the cloudy skies and the drizzle/freezing drizzle, we’ll only top out in the lower to middle 30s. Before the system either moves out or dies over us, there could be some flurries late tonight and into early tomorrow morning. By sunrise Friday, we’ll stay mostly cloudy but we’ll be dry. Lows will start in the lower 20s…

Even though we stay mostly cloudy Friday afternoon, we’ll be dry. Highs will top out around 31° in the Joplin area and the lower 30s for the rest of the area…

We stay quiet and dry for the weekend as we finally warm back up. We’ll be near 40° Saturday and pushing 50° on Sunday. Our next system that we’re watching will work in on Monday. Right now, it looks like it’ll be warm enough for rain chances…

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:

Cool with chances for rain or snow on Tuesday.  Staying cool most of the week with rain chances on Saturday.

January 31st-February 6th:

A mild start to the week with rain on Monday and Tuesday.  Turning cooler with some snow chances on Thursday and Friday.

Feb 7th-13th:
