Sunday AM January 31st Update – We Start Cooling Back Down This Week

Good early Sunday morning, everyone. The last few days were something else, weren’t they? Highs in the lower to middle 70s on Friday and a record high of 68 degrees yesterday? Those are numbers we should see in March or April, not in late January! Hopefully everyone got to enjoy it because we’re going back into winter this week. To start Sunday out, we’re windy but quiet and dry on the radar below…

A weak wave and a front will pass through today. All it should do for us is keep skies partly sunny and switch our winds out of the north later this afternoon. That’ll mean a somewhat cooler day, but we still look good. Highs should top out in the middle to upper 50s today…

The next system that we’re watching still hasn’t moved on shore, but we can see it on the setup below…

This will be our system that will bring rain/snow chances our way followed by quite a cool down for the middle of the week. We keep things quiet for today and into Monday morning. As this system works closer during the day on Monday, clouds will increase. I think rain chances with this will pick up late Monday afternoon into Monday night and early Tuesday morning…

Some dry air could work in, causing a break in the action late Tuesday morning and early Tuesday afternoon. We keep the skies cloudy, though, as colder air works in during the day. On the back side of the system, we still have a shot to see at least some light snow showers Tuesday night and into early Wednesday morning…

I’m not expecting big snow accumulations for us with this system, but we’ll keep our eyes on that as we go along. Once the system gets the rain/snow chances out of here, we’ll be back in the 30s and 40s as we stay quiet from Wednesday into next weekend. Have a great Sunday!

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:

Showers or at least a few on Super Bowl Sunday.  Showers and thunderstorm on Tuesday that could end with snow showers late Tuesday and into Wednesday.  Turning much colder for the rest of the week with slight chances for snow over the weekend.

Feb 14th-20th:

A cool start to the week with slight chances for snow on Valentine’s Day.  Another wave on Tuesday and Wednesday with rain and snow chances will push through.  Staying cool most of the week with rain and snow chances on Friday.

Feb 21st-27th:  A cold start to the week with slight chances for snow on Monday and Tuesday.  Warming up the rest of the week with rain chances returning for the weekend.
