Good Monday afternoon, everyone. Nick here with a blog update at Doug’s request once again. We’ve had just a few spots of light showers this morning, but we’ve been seeing on and off cloud cover across the area so far today. We’re still set to get better rain chances tonight, but we’re fairly quiet in our area on the radar below…
With our east wind and partly sunny skies, I’m anticipating highs to only go near 58° this afternoon. Things will start to change quite a bit when the system out west moves in later tonight…
With this system, winter storm and blizzard warnings are out from Utah and Arizona through Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota. That’s for all the snow and the strong wind on the north side on the system. For us, it still looks like will stay on the warm side of the system. Clouds continue to increase through the evening and into tonight. Rain chances (even a few t-storms) move in overnight and into Tuesday morning…
The cold front pushes through and turns us partly sunny for the rest of Tuesday morning and into Tuesday afternoon. I think we’ll have early highs near 52° and temperatures will gradually drop throughout the day as the colder air works in on the backside of the system…
We’ll still deal with the backside of this system tomorrow night and early Wednesday morning. We go mostly cloudy for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with a few snow showers possible. I stress just a few snow showers with hardly any accumulation expected…
After this system completely clears out, we keep things quiet for the rest of the week. However, the winter norm will be back. Expect highs in the middle to upper 30s for Wednesday and Thursday and highs in the middle 40s to near 50° for the weekend.
