Wednesday Evening Blog: Colder temperatures, but for how long?

Good Wednesday evening.  I hope your week is going great so far.  Mine has been pretty good, just busy.  I am working of course and trying to get some extra stuff done while I am here.  At least the weather is calm for us tonight.  We had the big storms system that passed just north of us about 36 hours ago that produced a ton of snow across the northern plains.  We haven’t had much snow this winter.

snowfall

We are at a whopping 2″ of snow.  Some areas haven’t even seen that much snow.  Average is 16″, but our record low for a season is 2.5″  We are still short of that mark.  We only had 2.8″ 4 seasons ago and we may end up around that mark again if we don’t end up getting a decent size system here sometime soon.  I still think we have a shot at a good system this month, but we are running out of time.  Also the next 9 days or so look decently calm.  Not to much is going on for us right now.

We will have a sunny skies on Thursday with temperatures a little warmer near 45.

Thursday

We should go into the lower 50s on Friday.  However, a weak wave will roll through Friday night that could give us a few snow showers.  Besides that, most of the weekend is looking pretty good.  Remember for all of the information on my Heady Pattern and long range forecast go to headypattern.com

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:

A cold week with partly sunny skies.  Rain and snow chances will increase toward the weekend.

Feb 14th-20th:

A cool start to the week with rain and snow chances to start the week.  Cool temperatures stick around through the middle of the week with rain and snow chances returning for Thursday and Friday.

Feb 21st-27th:  A cold start to the week with slight chances for snow on Monday and Tuesday.  Warming up the rest of the week with rain chances returning for the weekend.
