Friday Afternoon February 5th Update – Keeping Things Pretty Quiet

Good Friday afternoon, everyone. We’ve finally made it to the weekend and we’re in pretty good shape in terms of kicking off our first weekend of February! We had plenty of cloud cover to start this morning, but we’re breaking the sunshine out across parts of the area. As a result, there’s not a lot happening on the radar below right now…

Before any more cloud cover sneaks back in tonight, we should be able to go into the lower 50s for afternoon highs across the area…

The cloud cover will increase as an upper level shortwave moves in from the northwest later on tonight and into tomorrow morning. You can see that with the kink in the lines through our area early Saturday morning below…

With this weak wave, this could bring just a few spots of drizzle or a few snow flurries. Other than that, it won’t spoil our weekend. Highs will remain near 50° for the weekend with partly sunny skies. After a brief cold snap Monday and Tuesday, we’ll go back into the 50s by the middle of next week. I still don’t see any good systems in sight until we get into next weekend.  Remember for all of the information on Doug’s Heady Pattern and long range forecast, go to headypattern.com

Have a good Friday and a good weekend!

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:

A cold week with partly sunny skies.  Rain and snow chances will increase toward the weekend.

Feb 14th-20th:

A cool start to the week with rain and snow chances to start the week.  Cool temperatures stick around through the middle of the week with rain and snow chances returning for Thursday and Friday.

Feb 21st-27th:  A cold start to the week with slight chances for snow on Monday and Tuesday.  Warming up the rest of the week with rain chances returning for the weekend.
