Friday AM Blog: Windy! Mild! It won’t last forever

Good Friday morning!  I hope you are having a great week.  It is Friday, you can’t beat a Friday!  My week has been super busy with work and a lot of doctor stuff.  I am doing this new with my migraines so we can figure these babies out.  I have only had them for 37 years lol.  I am glad the weather has been fantastic this week, well minus the wind.  The wind has caused a lot of wild fires that past couple of days.  So lets say the temperatures have been great.  We had winds gusting near 50 mph on Thursday.  You have to remember when we have severe thunderstorms winds are at 57 mph or greater.  Hmm, we had some pretty strong winds.  We were also very close to a record  high on Thursday.  Temperatures will stay warm over the next few days as well.  Take a look at the radar below.

We actually have a weak cold front slipping through today, so temperatures will drop into the lower 70s for highs.  Remember our normal high is only 50 for this time of the year.  There could be a few random showers this morning mainly south of the area.  This front will stall mainly south of us through the day so we will have west winds through the day.  They will still kick in at 15-20 mph but weaker than yesterday.  However, highs will still be at about 72.  Here is a look at temperatures around 4pm.

Friday highs

On Saturday, the winds will switch back to the south with mostly cloudy skies.  However, highs will still be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.

Saturday highs

I do expect to see showers developing late Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday morning.  A cold front will press through the region.

Saturday pm precip

This cold front will drop our temperatures back to where we should be for this time of the year for early next week.  Remember for all of my Heady Pattern and long range forecast go to headypattern.com.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:  Slight chances for rain late Tuesday and Wednesday.  Temperatures stay near average most of the week.  Temperatures warm up a bit toward the weekend with rain chances increasing.

Feb 28th-March 5th:  Rain or snow chances to start the week.  Stay cool to cold the rest of the week and mainly dry.  Temperatures will moderate over the weekend with rain chances returning.

March 6th-12th:  Rain and snow chances the first half of the week with two systems working through.  Cooler the second half of the week with additional rain and snow chances on Friday and Saturday.
