Friday night blog: A nice weekend, but a bigger system moving in

Good Friday night!  I hope you had a great week and working on a great weekend.  I am planning on having a good weekend, I think I always plan on having a good weekend.  I have zero clue what I am going to do as up yet, I know I have a ton of things that need to be done.  I guess it is the question do I want to do them, lol.  At least the weather is going to be great once again.  Take a look at the radar below.

Not much for us and it looks pretty calm for us on Saturday.

Saturday

We will continue to see nice temperatures on Sunday, but more clouds will start to work in.  We will also have a few random showers working in late in the day.  Thunderstorms will start to increase Monday afternoon and night.

Monday precip

Some of the thunderstorms could be on the strong side.  I will watch this over the next couple of days.  Thunderstorm chances will continue through the week due to this system becoming a cut-off low and not being able to push off to the east.

Tuesday 500

You can see this huge system spinning in SW Texas.  This will continue to push moisture our direction all week long.  This is the exact same thing that happened two cycles ago in the Heady Pattern when we had a very similar Jet Stream strength.  Our cycle length is 49.5 days, so if go back 100 days from next Tuesday we get November 30th.

November 30th

This cut-off low was shifted a little farther north in November due to a little weaker Jet Stream but you can see this is the same system.  Also this gave us the same prolonged rain across the southern plains.  I will keep you updated.  For more on my long range forecast and heady pattern go to headypattern.com.

LONG RANGE FORECAST IS BELOW BASED OFF THE HEADY PATTERN:

Here is your 7-day forecast:

Remember that you can sign up for WeatherCall by clicking the WeatherCall link at the top of the page. WeatherCall, in our opinion, is the best tool on the market to keep you safe during severe weather.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:  Showers and thunderstorms with mild temperatures all week long.

March 13th-19th:  Mild with scattered storms on Monday and then again Wednesday and Thursday.  Cooler but dry the rest of the week.

March 20th-26th:  Warm with thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday.  Some of these could be strong to severe.  Another system works in on Wednesday with additional strong to severe storms.  The rest of the week will be cool and dry.
