Friday AM Blog: Great temperatures with thunderstorms increasing!

Good Friday morning, I hope you have had a great work week.  Mine has been pretty good.  It has flown right by as I just can’t seem to slow them down for some reason.  I have had very productive days over the past few days.  This is actually very important to me as I am a busy body and I get very down when I can’t get out and do stuff with my migraines.  The past couple of days I have been able to move at 100mph which is the speed I like to move and I have gotten a ton done.  I am hoping to get a lot done this morning as well.  I am in the process of upgrading the boat stereo system with a couple of subs and a new head unit.  Of course when you are on the lake you want to be able to actually hear the music.  I would love to also get some yard work done today as well.  Fingers crossed I can get a lot done before I head into work today.

At least the weather is pretty nice with great April temperature the past few days.  In fact, temperatures are going to stay fairly steady in the 70s over the next several days.  Take a look at the radar below.

Not to much is going on here, but we do have showers to our SE and also back to our west.  I am watching a couple of systems that will affect us over the next few days.  Today looks pretty good.

Friday

Now I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few pop-up thundershowers this afternoon.  So I am going to go with about a 10-20% chance.  If you are wondering what that means, I am thinking that 10-20% of the area in the map above will see rain.  So I do think a few showers will pop-up, however it should still be a pretty good Friday for us today.  Lets look at our next storm system.  It is right on track with the Heady Pattern and our 49.5 day cycle that we have been in.  Here is a look at tomorrow.

Saturday 500

This is actually a fairly strong system as it sits west of us tomorrow.  However, there is one problem, it is slowly becoming a cut-off low.  When I say a cut-off, I mean it is cut-off from the main flow of the Jet Stream.  So lets jump out to Tuesday and you will see what I mean.

Tuesday 500

On Tuesday, you can see the Jet Stream is well north and this strong system is now a weak little dude just spinning with nowhere to go.  Well because it is on top of us, it will give us several days of rain chances, which we do need.  Because it isn’t a powerhouse system, we won’t see much severe weather chances.  So our rain chances start increasing late Sunday.

Lets jump into Monday.

We will continue to see periods of scattered showers through Thursday of next week.

We have had 4 severe weather events so far this spring season.  We average about 7-10, we have plenty coming down the road.  Remember you can always find my in-depth thoughts on the Heady Pattern and my long range forecast with severe weather forecasts at headypattern.com

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:  Showers and thunderstorms Sunday night through Tuesday.  Some of the storms could be on the strong side, but most look to stay below severe limits.  Scattered showers will continue through Thursday.  Thunderstorm chances will return on Saturday.

April 24th-30th: A warming trend through the week with two storm system working through during the week.  This will give us thunderstorm chances through the week.  The best chances for strong to severe storms will be Wednesday through Friday.

May 1st-7th:  Warming trend through the middle of the week.  thunderstorms chances on Tuesday and Wednesday that could be strong to severe.  Cool temperatures work in on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
