Tuesday Evening April 19th Update – Rain Chances Stick Around

Good Tuesday evening, everyone. Nick here with the blog update again at Doug’s request. We kept the skies mostly cloudy across the area with on and off rain throughout the day. We’ve even had a few t-storms, but nothing strong and certainly nothing severe. We’ll continue to see rain come in on the radar below…

Our setup hasn’t changed a whole lot from the other day. We still have this stubborn system pushing through (well, at least it’s trying to…) and another disturbance is firing up another round of rain off to our west…

We’re dealing with scattered rain for the rest of the evening and the rain out west will work in for Wednesday morning. Here’s what 10 AM Wednesday looks like on the future radar below…

wednesdaystorms

The rain and t-storm chances continue through a good portion of Wednesday. If t-storms come about, we shouldn’t see any strong storms and we’re certainly not expecting anything severe. After we start in the middle to upper 50s Wednesday morning, we’ll try to top out around 71° Wednesday afternoon…

This system finally gets a move on by Thursday but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a few showers on the back side as we go into Thursday afternoon. The 18Z run of the 4 KM NAM backs up that idea with the future radar by 4 PM Thursday below…

thursdayshowers

Despite the rain chances, we remain mild Thursday. We dry out and warm up into the upper 70s to near 80° by this weekend. We could go into the lower 80s for highs early next week as some t-storm chances look to return.  Remember you can always find Doug’s in-depth thoughts on the Heady Pattern and his long range forecast with severe weather forecasts over at headypattern.com

Have a good night and a great Wednesday!

Nick

LONG RANGE FORECAST IS BELOW BASED OFF THE HEADY PATTERN:

Here is your 7-day forecast:

Remember that you can sign up for WeatherCall by clicking the WeatherCall link at the top of the page. WeatherCall, in our opinion, is the best tool on the market to keep you safe during severe weather.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

April 24th-30th: A warming trend through the week with two storm system working through during the week.  This will give us thunderstorm chances through the week.  The best chances for strong to severe storms will be Wednesday through Friday.

May 1st-7th:  Warming trend through the middle of the week.  thunderstorms chances on Tuesday and Wednesday that could be strong to severe.  Cool temperatures work in on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
