Good Wednesday evening! I hope you have had a great day so far and evening as well. Mine has been pretty good as I got a lot done prior to work and somehow I am ahead of schedule on work stuff this evening. That is always a good sign for me during my work day. Plus it is Wednesday! That means we are over the hump and working toward the weekend. We did have a gloomy start but at least the sun has popped out this afternoon across the region. All of the showers and thunderstorms for the past couple of days pushing well east as you can see on the radar below.
However, the backside of the system has some showers back to the west. Some of these could push in late tonight, mainly after 2am.
This will work through the area late tonight and through the morning hours. Partly sunny skies will push in with great temperatures tomorrow.
I am still putting a slight chance for a pop-up showers during the afternoon but most of the day looks pretty good. Friday and Saturday we will have mostly sunny skies with temperatures warming up over the weekend. Thunderstorm chances return on Sunday.
This system is right on schedule of the Heady Pattern. Remember we have been in this pattern since the 3rd week of September, but this cycle since July. We are in the 6th cycle and the cycle length is 49.5 days long. We are about to enter the active stretch of the pattern that will last into the middle of May. Of course we are in severe weather season so the severe weather chances will increase. Remember for all of my long range forecasts and in-depth blogs on what is coming up, go to headypattern.com
Most of Sunday looks pretty good with chances for showers and thunderstorms increasing by evening.
Some of these could be strong to severe into Sunday night. We have three systems we need to watch next week. I will keep you updated.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)
SLIGHT CHANCES: MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.
IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT: THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES
Next Week: Warm temperatures with thunderstorms chances on Sunday and then again Tuesday through Saturday. The Tuesday through Saturday period will be two systems that roll through and we will have a severe threat with the highest threat on Thursday and Friday.
May 1st-7th: A mild and dry start to the week with temperatures warming up by the middle of the week. Our next system will work in on Wednesday and Thursday with another severe threat. Temperatures cool back down a bit toward the weekend.
May 8th-14th: Warm with a slight chance for thunderstorms on Sunday. Warm temperatures continue through most of the week with good chances for thunderstorms Wednesday through Saturday. We should have good chances for severe weather through the period.
