Tuesday 2:30pm Severe weather update

Good afternoon!  Hope you are having a great day so far.  Mine has been busy but pretty good.  Just at work looking over everything with our possible severe weather for the evening and overnight hours.  So first off, take a look at the radar below.

Showers and thunderstorms are starting to pop-up across central OK and a few across central KS.  This is why a tornado watch is now in effect until 9pm.  Thunderstorms will continue to increase mainly west of the area over the next few hours.

Watches

Scattered thunderstorms will start increasing over the next couple of hours across SE KS and NE OK.  However, I think the bigger storms with our main severe threat will be after 5pm.

5pm

By 7pm, the severe storms will continue working into the viewing area.

7pm

At this time we will continue with a threat for large hail, gusty winds and tornadoes.  After 7pm our tornado threat will start to drop.  This means the threat for tornadoes is lower on the MO/AR side.  By 9pm the storms will be plowing east with the highest threat being hail and winds.

9pm

Storms will continue pushing through from 9pm until midnight.  The tornado threat will continue to drop but the hail and wind threat will stick around.  Most of the storms will be out of here by 1-2am.

I will keep you updated.

LONG RANGE FORECAST IS BELOW BASED OFF THE HEADY PATTERN:

Here is your 7-day forecast:

Remember that you can sign up for WeatherCall by clicking the WeatherCall link at the top of the page. WeatherCall, in our opinion, is the best tool on the market to keep you safe during severe weather.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US MUCH BETTER PRECIPITATION CHANCES

Next Week:  A nice mild start to the week with chances for showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.  Cooling back down and mainly dry heading into the weekend.

May 8th-14th:  Warm with a slight chance for thunderstorms on Sunday.  Warm temperatures continue through most of the week with good chances for thunderstorms Wednesday through Saturday.  We should have good chances for severe weather through the period.
