Friday midday blog: Changes moving back in

Happy Friday!  I hope your week has been great and hopefully a short work week for most of you.  I am actually off again for a 4-day weekend.  If you have noticed, once the summer rolls around and the weather starts to calm down, I take most of my vacation time.  Plus I like to spend as much time with my son during the summer.

The weather all week long has been steady.  Warm, humid with pop-up showers and thunderstorms.  Again that is what we are seeing today.  Take a look at the radar below.

We will continue to see a few scattered thunderstorms through the afternoon.  I don’t expect anything very strong or severe.  Here is a look at scattered storms late this afternoon.

mid afternoon precip

These will die down during the evening hours and we should be mainly dry again for us tonight.  We do have a cold front that will shift through tomorrow.  It won’t drop our temperatures to much, but it will cut off this daily pop-up storms that we have been seeing.  So a few scattered afternoon thunderstorms along the front as it passes through on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday PM

Behind the front, the humidity will be lower with temperatures just a hair cooler.  We will have a NW flow, meaning the winds will flow from the NW.  This usually gives us a stretch of calmer weather which will set-up for next week.

Sunday 500

By late next week. The Jet Stream shifts north allowing the heat to really pump in.

Thursday 500

The next system out west will affect us by late next Saturday and Sunday.

Of course you can always get my long range forecast on headypattern.com

LONG RANGE FORECAST IS BELOW BASED OFF THE HEADY PATTERN:

Here is your 7-day forecast:

Remember that you can sign up for WeatherCall by clicking the WeatherCall link at the top of the page. WeatherCall, in our opinion, is the best tool on the market to keep you safe during severe weather.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM

Next Week:  Heating up through the week and mainly dry.  Slight chances for thunderstorms return by Saturday.

June 13th-18th:  Staying warm to hot with a couple waves working through with scattered afternoon thunderstorms from Sunday through Thursday.
