Wednesday Afternoon July 27th Update – T-Storm Chances Stick Around

Good Wednesday afternoon, everyone. So far, this week has improved compared to last week. We’re getting a break from some of the excessive heat that we had to deal with this week thanks to additional cloud cover and several t-storm chances. That pattern is repeating itself again today with temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s and additional t-storms firing up on the radar below…

We’ll have scattered t-storms popping up this afternoon and into this evening thanks to a front that’s sitting on top of us. It’ll still be on top of us going into this evening…

Some of you will see t-storms this afternoon and evening while others will stay quiet under partly sunny to partly cloudy skies after sunset. We’ll be dry going into Thursday morning with overnight lows dropping into the lower 70s. Going into tomorrow, the front on top of us now will wash out and another front will work in from the north. Here’s how the next front wants to set up by 1 PM Thursday below…

thursdayfront

Even with another cold front wanting to hang out by Thursday afternoon, that will keep scattered t-storms in the forecast going by that time and going into Thursday evening. Nothing severe is expected, but don’t be surprised if these storms get enough juice to generate a good soaking…

With the t-storm chances, though, it will still be a bit on the hot side with high temperatures on Thursday going back near 90°. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few spots went as hot as 91° or 92° before sunset Thursday…

The front working in for Thursday will still be around as we go into Friday. Couple that with a good upper level disturbance that will work in, we could have a good shot of widespread rain and t-storms for Friday…

If the widespread rain chances pan out for Friday, that could be enough to knock temperatures into the middle to upper 80s for highs Friday afternoon. Once we get into this weekend, we’ll start trending drier as the front lifts back north. As far as the start of next week goes, we’ll start dry and we’ll definitely see the summer heat back in place as highs look to go back into the middle 90s.

If you’re curious as to how the rest of the summer is shaping up or if you want Doug’s latest on the pattern, he has you covered over on headypattern.com

Have a good evening!
