Early Sunday AM August 7th Update – Rain Chances Stick Around

Good early Sunday morning, everyone. Hopefully, you’re all making the most of the weekend even though we’ll still have to contend with rain chances. If you’re not a fan of the summer heat, though, the rain and cloud cover yesterday helped keep things a little cooler than normal. We had highs yesterday only in the lower to middle 80s in most spots. We could be repeating that all over again for today.  Take a look at the radar below…

Since we still have our front hanging just south of the area, that sets us up for any t-storms out west to come working in. That’s how we’ll be starting our Sunday morning. There are t-storms out west early this morning and they’ll be working into our western counties by 7 AM…

Even with temperatures starting out in the lower 70s, scattered rain and t-storms will be an issue again for Sunday morning. Our high temperatures for Sunday afternoon will depend on how fast some of the cloud cover and rain chances clear out by the start of the afternoon. If we see enough clearing (even if there could be a few scattered t-storms later today), we should have highs top out in the middle to upper 80s…

Going into late Sunday night and Monday morning, it looks as though we’ll have another batch of rain and t-storms that will work in from the west…

Even though Monday starts very similar, we’ll trend warmer as the front lifts back north. I expect high temperatures on Monday to work back near 90°, even with partly sunny skies and some t-storm chances around…

Going into Tuesday, the front will almost be falling apart as it continues to slowly drift north…

That’ll mean we’ll trend drier and hotter by the middle of the week. We may be dry on Thursday, but we’ll be watching for another front that will bring t-storm chances back in here by the upcoming weekend.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM
