Early Monday AM August 8th Update – Trending Warmer This Week

Good early Monday morning, everyone. A new work week is upon us and we just wrapped up a weekend where it didn’t exactly feel like August around here. Thanks to morning rounds of rain Saturday and Sunday, that only allowed afternoon highs to warm into the lower 80s. We do trend warmer this week, but we’ll have to start with another round of scattered rain and t-storms. If you’re catching the blog early this morning, you can pick up on the rain and t-storms on the radar below…

We’ll have temperatures this morning starting out in the lower 70s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. The rain chances will be around through the morning and we should have a break in the action to start the afternoon. If we don’t see much in the way of rain and t-storms this morning, we could see some scattered t-storms this afternoon…

If we do see enough pockets of sun today and we get our morning round of rain and some t-storms out fast enough, I think we should be able to get afternoon highs today at least into the middle 80s. If we see quite a bit of sun this afternoon, I wouldn’t be surprised if some spots went into the upper 80s…

We could have a few t-storms late tonight and into early Tuesday morning as our front lifts north through the area and slowly falls apart. At least we start trending drier for a little bit as we go into Tuesday. With that said, we can’t rule out some summertime pop-up t-storms Tuesday afternoon…

As the front lifts north on Tuesday, that will allow the summer heat to work back into the area. After we start in the lower to middle 70s Tuesday morning, we’ll have afternoon highs back into the middle 90s…

We keep things hot as we trend drier during the middle of this week. We may be dry on Thursday, but we’ll be watching for another front that will bring t-storm chances back in here by the upcoming weekend.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM

August 14th-20th:  Another hot week with thunderstorm chances Wednesday through Saturday.
