Early Sunday AM October 2 Update – Rain Chances In The Forecast

Good early Sunday morning, everyone. The weekend has been fairly kind to us so far. We had to start Saturday with some patchy fog/mist in the morning, but we saw temperatures rebound nicely into the middle 70s. We’ll keep things quiet today, but we’re also keeping an eye on our next chance for rain this week. The radar below looks good early this morning…

The surface map below has us quiet with clouds and persistent rain showers northeast of us. Later on this week, we’ll have to contend with our next front that’s sitting out to our west. As of this morning, it’s stretching from Montana back through Nevada…

Since it stays west of us today, we keep things quiet and warm once again for the afternoon. We just need to get past another chilly start. I can’t rule out some patchy AM fog/mist, but we start with quiet skies and lows in the lower 50s. We stay quiet under mostly sunny skies with a light breeze for the rest of the day. That combo should help highs return to about 76 today…

We stay quiet again for Monday, and we’ll add a south breeze to warm things up to start the new work/school week. We start in the middle 50s Monday morning and we should see afternoon highs top out in the lower 80s…

Most spots will stay quiet on Tuesday, but we’ll see our next cold front work in by then. That will also bring some spotty t-storms back into our far western counties Tuesday afternoon…

The front will take its time to work through, so we’ll keep t-storm chances around for the middle of the week and into the start of the upcoming weekend. Let’s say some scattered t-storms will be around for Wednesday with chances really picking up on Thursday. I want to keep an eye on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s t-storm chances. Depending on the setup, some of them could be strong (possibly a low severe threat). The front could still keep t-storms around as we go into Friday. This front will ultimate dry things out on Saturday, but we’ll also see another cool down behind the front.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM

October 9th-15th:  A mild start to the week with warm temperatures for the beginning of the work week.  Rain chances return Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Cooler temperatures work back in the rest of the week.
