Saturday Evening October 8th Update – Keeping Things Quiet For Now…

Good Saturday evening, everyone! After we had to start the weekend out with some rain and t-storms late Thursday night/early Friday morning, we’ve been keeping things on the quiet side around here. It was almost cold to start our Saturday morning with lows around 40°, but we managed to rebound nicely to about 72° in most spots. We will keep things dry and quiet overnight with nothing on the radar below working in…

Let’s check the surface map setup and see how the lower 48 is shaping up. Our front that gave us rain and cooled us down yesterday has raced off to the eastern U.S. The front will help encourage Matthew to move out of the Carolina coast as well. As the front continues to move east, that will force Matthew to work into the Atlantic Ocean away from land…

Looking back to the northwest, another front is working into the northwestern United States. It still has a ways to go, but this will sweep in by the middle of the upcoming week…

nextfront

Until then, we are in good shape for Sunday. Some cloud cover will sneak in overnight, but it will be a quiet and chilly start with lows in the middle to upper 40s…

sundayam

I expect skies to stay partly sunny and quiet through our Sunday morning and afternoon. With a light south breeze at 5-10, that should be enough to get afternoon highs to about 73°…

sundaypm

We stay quiet and mild on Monday before we warm up close to 80° on Tuesday. Going into late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, our cold front out west will start working in. Not only will that mean mostly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping back into the 60s for Wednesday, that will also bring some rain and t-storms back in…

Behind that front, we’ll stay quiet for Thursday before another shot of rain works in for Friday. These rain chances will cause temperatures to go on a bit of an up and down trend, but nothing too crazy expected for our week ahead.

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM

October 16th-22nd:  Chances for rain with a storm system working through from Sunday through Tuesday.  A second system will keep the rain chances around from Wednesday through Friday.  Temperatures will be mild through the week with us cooling down a bit toward the weekend.
