Wednesday Afternoon November 2nd Update – Rain Chances Tonight

Good Wednesday afternoon, everyone. It was warm again for today with temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80° under partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies. It’s been a little while since we had some decent rain chances around here, so we’ll have a go at some rain and t-storms tonight and into tomorrow morning. As of the 4 o’clock hour, any action on the radar below is confined to the north of us and to our southwest…

For those wondering why we may see t-storm chances this evening and into the overnight, the setup map below perfectly explains why…

setup

Our next front is parked just to our northwest and we’ll see our main shot for rain and t-storms ahead of it as it continues to move to the southeast. If you’re worried about severe weather, there’s no need for concern. We may see some strong t-storms, but the severe threat still looks pretty low (if not nonexistent). The future radar below continues to support the idea for t-storms in the area this evening and by 10 PM tonight…

tonight

Beyond tonight, some rain and t-storms will continue into the overnight hours. By sunrise, we may still have a few showers around as you head to work or school, but the majority of the rain chances will be out by tomorrow morning. You can see the future surface map below at 7 AM Thursday backing up that idea pretty well as the front will continue to exit the area…

thursdayam

We may see our highs on Thursday come early in the morning before the front passes through. By midnight, temperatures will be in the upper 60s to near 70°. Behind the front, temperatures Thursday afternoon will be about 10° cooler compared to where we are this afternoon. Afternoon temperatures for Thursday should hold in the middle to upper 60s…

We keep things quiet, mild and nice for this weekend. Highs will certainly feel like it’s fall with temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70°. We’ll see rain chances work back in as we head into next Monday and on Election Day. As Doug noted earlier today, November will be a reality check as we will see much colder temperatures.  Check out his long range forecast at headypattern.com

Have a good evening and a great Thursday!

Also we have our free WEATHER APP that lets you access our forecast, blog, radar and weather alerts. I think it’s a must if you own an Apple or Android phone.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM

Next week: Mild with rain chances returning Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Cooler temperatures working in for the rest of the week.

November 13th-19th:  Mainly a cool week with rain chances on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
