Sunday PM November 6th Update – Rain To Start the Work/School Week

Good Sunday evening, everyone! We had a quiet day overall to wrap this weekend up. It felt more fall-like with lows in the 40s and highs around 66° today. While the skies were quiet, we actually felt an earthquake from earlier in the evening. We had a 5.0 magnitude earthquake just outside of Cushing, OK at 7:44 PM…

Plenty of us felt it and we’ll continue to follow that story to see if there was any substantial damage. Going back to the forecast, clouds have been increasing since the evening began. Rain chances aren’t too far behind on the radar below…

The setup below has our reasons why we have rain chances working back in. The cutoff upper level low that was in the Desert Southwest is edging closer to the region and our next cold front is getting ready to work in…

setup

So, plan on rain chances to start your morning out. Everyone will be mostly cloudy by the start of the AM drive and there will be scattered rain around. Overnight lows will drop to about 50°…

We could even have a few t-storms during the day, but nothing strong and certainly nothing severe. With the rain chances and the clouds, we’ll only manage to get afternoon highs around 62°…

mondaypm

Rain will continue into Monday night and into Election Day Tuesday. The rain chances on Tuesday should be a morning affair, though, as the front will clear the area by then…

Once we get past Tuesday morning, the rest of Election Day will be dry as we hold onto the cloud cover. So far, the rest of the week isn’t looking too shabby. Skies should stay partly to mostly sunny with highs in the lower to middle 60s from Wednesday through next weekend. Some of the models want to bring in some cold air by the coming weekend, so let’s keep an eye on overnight lows by Saturday morning. That could possibly be another night with some frost potential. If you’re wondering how the rest of the month looks and heading closer to the end of the year, Doug has you covered over on headypattern.com

Have a good night and a great Monday!

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM

November 13th-19th:  Mainly a cool week with rain chances on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
