Good late Sunday evening, everyone. We had to deal with some rain today, but it was cloudy and windy for everybody. Even with the scattered rain and clouds, we did get afternoon highs to top out near 59°. The credit for that goes to our strong southerly wind we had during the day. We’ll continue with the strong south wind tonight along with the clouds and redeveloping rain on the radar below…
What’s causing our strong southerly wind, the cloud cover and the continuing rain chances? We can thank our cold front that’s still just to the west of us on the surface map below…
That front will continue its easterly track. So, while we start Monday on the cloudy and wet side, we’ll be clearing out later on in the day. So, let’s have the rain gear handy as we head back to work and school Monday morning…
By Monday afternoon, the front and the rain chances are east of us. We’ll turn partly to mostly sunny before sunset and afternoon highs should top out around 63°. The wind speeds will still be up there with a west wind at 10-15 (gusts near 25) for the afternoon…
We keep things quiet for Tuesday with highs a hair cooler around 58°. Starting Tuesday night, we’ll have another cool snap work in and stay with us into next weekend. Plan on morning lows in the upper 20s to near 30° Wednesday through the upcoming weekend with afternoon highs in the middle to upper 40s…
Even though it will feel like middle to late December by the middle of the week, we stay quiet. By Saturday, we could have another system clip us with some rain chances. After a dry day next Sunday, we’ll go back into a bit of an active stretch with another system working in next Monday. If you’re curious about the next few weeks around here, Doug has you covered with the long-range forecast below.
