Sunday PM January 29th Update – Starting Out Above Normal This Week

Good Sunday evening, everyone. Hopefully, you all had a good weekend. There has to be something going around since I caught the cold. Oh, the joys of having your ears a bit stuffed along with the usual nose issues and sore throat. Here’s hoping the cold medicine and chicken noodle soup I stocked up on will make short work of the cold. Let’s talk weather. It was a bit chilly today, but it was a nice day with partly to mostly sunny skies all around. Highs went into the middle 50s around the Joplin area with some spots out west almost pushing 60° today! When you consider that our normal high for today should be 46°, that’s a good warm up. We’ll continue to stay quiet on the radar below tonight…

We’ll continue with our above normal temperature trend to start the new work/school week out, but it won’t last very long. We have your week ahead broken down on the videocast below…

Don’t forget that Doug has you covered with his latest thoughts on the pattern and his long range forecast over on headypattern.com

Have a good night and a great Monday!

Nick

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM

February 5th – 11th:  A cool start to the week with chances for rain or snow on Sunday.  Staying cold through the week with slight chances for rain or snow on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Dry the rest of the week with cool temperatures.

February 12th-18th:  Mild with rain chances again on Sunday and Monday.  With colder air working in, we could see a little bit of snow for Valentine’s Day.  Temperatures warm right back up and stay mild into the weekend.
