Tuesday Evening February 7th Update – Quick Cool Down Before We Warm Back Up

Good Tuesday evening, everyone. It is early February, but you wouldn’t have been able to tell it based on our weather setup! We had record highs in the middle 70s yesterday thanks to a good south wind. For today, we had more sunshine and a calmer wind out of the west. Despite the west wind being a more mild wind, we were still warmer than normal today with afternoon temperatures in the middle 60s. Even though we’ll have some clouds sneak in tonight, we’ll keep things quiet on the radar below…

Even though we were treated to a nice taste of spring for the past few days, we will have to cool back down for the next few days. With partly cloudy skies tonight, we’ll have lows drop back into the middle 30s. A north and northeast breeze tomorrow with partly sunny skies in place will mean highs dropping back to about 46°…

The coldest night of the next 7 days will come in for Wednesday night and Thursday morning with lows dropping back into the lower 20s. We’ll stay quiet for Thursday but cool with highs Thursday topping out in the middle 40s…

After the next few days on the cool side, we’ll really warm back up for most of the weekend. With a strong south wind returning Friday, we’ll catapult from the middle 30s to the upper 60s for the afternoon! We’ll even go a little warmer for Saturday ahead of our next system, which you can see below on the projected surface map for 6 AM Saturday…

Ahead of the front, we’ll still have a good south wind in place. That will mean lows in the middle 50s Saturday morning and afternoon highs pushing close to 80°. Keep in mind that we shouldn’t see highs close to 80° until late May! Then we’ll have temperatures turn chilly again by Sunday as rain chances return…

Behind the system, we’ll stay pretty chilly with highs between the upper 40s and middle 50s for early next week. After Valentine’s Day, we’ll see if we can get some rain/snow chances to work back in here.

If you’re curious how the next several weeks are shaping up, Doug has you covered over on headypattern.com where you can also get his latest thoughts on the pattern.

Have a good night and a great Wednesday, everybody!
