Monday Evening February 20th – Rain Chances Almost Out of Here

Good Monday evening, everyone. Nick back on the blog with an update for you at Doug’s request. I still can’t get over how nice this past weekend was! We went from the lower 70s on Friday to the upper 60s Saturday and wrapped up the weekend with a record high of 78° yesterday. Even with the clouds, the rain and a few t-storms today, it was still mild with temperatures in the 60s all day. Going into the rest of the evening, we’ll still have a few showers around on the radar below…

We’ll hold onto the chance for a few showers until 8 or 10 o’clock tonight. After that, we’ll have some of the cloud cover start to move out. However, with some clearing working with a light breeze and bit of extra moisture tonight, we can’t rule out some patchy fog for Tuesday morning…

Once we get past Tuesday morning’s fog, skies all across the area will turn mostly sunny…

The projected high temperatures below are running a little cool, but it’s got the right general idea. After we start in the upper 40s Tuesday morning, afternoon highs should top out right around 70°…

The middle of the week looks pretty good and, once again, very spring-like. Normally, we should have highs in the lower 50s but we’ll be quite warmer than that. We’ll go to 77° Wednesday afternoon and up to 78° Thursday. A ilttle FYI about this Thursday the 23rd… The record high for that day is 79° set back in 1982. We’ll see if we can come close to tying the record (if not break it) as we work closer to Thursday. Going into Friday, our next system will work in…

The bulk of the moisture with our next system should stay mainly north of the area, but we can’t rule out some spotty showers as we go through Friday…

The main thing our next system will do is bring in much cooler air just in time for the weekend. Temperatures Friday should mainly be in the 50s and we’ll have highs only go into the lower to middle 40s on Saturday…

We’ll stay dry Saturday and Sunday. After that, we’ll see rain chances try to sneak back in by next Monday and into early next week. Don’t forget that Doug has your long range forecast and his latest thoughts on the pattern over on headypattern.com

Have a good night and a great Tuesday!

Nick

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Based off of the HP(Heady Pattern)

SLIGHT CHANCES:  MEAN IT IS A WEAKER SYSTEM THAT WILL GIVE US SCATTERED SHOWERS OR SNOW SHOWERS.

IF I DON’T SAY SLIGHT:  THAT MEANS THIS IS A STRONGER SYSTEM

Next Week:  A much colder week with rain chances returning for Monday and Tuesday.  Cool the rest of the week with rain chances returning for the weekend.

March 5th-11th:  A cool start to the week with rain and snow chances on Sunday.  Staying cool most of the week with rain chances on Wednesday.  Warming up for the weekend.
