Monday Evening October 30th – Still Watching Rain Chances for Halloween

Good Monday evening, everyone. Nick here with the blog update this evening at Doug’s request. It definitely turned chilly once again for today after another cold front swept through early this morning. We didn’t get too cold this morning with lows right around 40°, but the northwest breeze didn’t allow us to warm up a whole lot. We had afternoon highs only rebound into the middle 50s for today. Even though the clouds will be around tonight and going into Tuesday morning, we’ll keep the radar below quiet for the time being…

We have an upper level disturbance working in from the west. That will keep the clouds around as we go into Tuesday…

The day starts dry and we should be dry through most of the afternoon on Halloween. It will be a cool day with afternoon highs only topping out in the middle to upper 40s…

Most of the day will be dry, but enough lift and moisture from the upper level disturbance will work in by Tuesday evening. With that resulting in some scattered rain chances below by 7 PM, trick-or-treaters may want to have the rain gear handy just in case…

It’ll also be cool (almost cold) for Halloween night with evening temperatures dropping into the lower 40s and upper 30s. We’ll start warming up again by Wednesday with afternoon highs near 60°. We get rid of the rain chances Wednesday, but most of the cloud cover will try to stick around…

Heading past the middle of the week, we’ll have another cold front ready to work close to the area by Thursday. Here’s how the setup looks by 7 AM Thursday…

Since we’ll spend most of Thursday just ahead of the cold front, a good south breeze will allow afternoon highs to shoot up into the middle to upper 70s…

As the front works through late Thursday and into Friday, it’ll cool us down a bit for Friday afternoon. It’ll also bring the clouds back in and enough moisture for a few showers…

Beyond Friday, we stay quiet and pretty mild for the coming weekend. We’ll have highs near 70° Saturday and upper 70s on Sunday. An early look at the new work/school week has us starting quiet and mild. Monday is looking partly sunny with expected highs around 72°.

Have a good night and a great Tuesday!
