Tuesday Evening December 5th – A Quick Little Warm-Up In Sight

Good Tuesday evening, everyone. We started our Tuesday out with clouds, but we saw the skies brighten up throughout the day. It didn’t really help with temperatures a lot, though. We saw temperatures turn 25 to 30 degrees cooler than yesterday thanks to that good cold front that passed on through. Highs only made it into the middle 40s after we started around 30° this morning. At least the skies stay quiet tonight with the radar below staying quiet as well…

With the quiet skies and the light breeze, another cold start will be waiting for us as we roll into Wednesday. Since temperatures look to start in the upper 20s in the morning, have the heavy jackets ready to go before you head to work or school…

Wednesday afternoon temperatures look to top right around where today’s highs were. With partly to mostly sunny skies, afternoon highs should bounce back into the middle 40s…

If you’re hoping for a warm-up for Thursday, it’s not looking like it’ll happen. Have a look at the 500 mb map by Thursday night below. You can see a good upper level wave passing right through here…

We’ve seen this wave setting up for a while now, but that wave won’t have much moisture or lift to work with. While that means we’re taking any possible snow chances out with that system, it’ll keep highs only in the lower to middle 30s for Thursday. Look at what that system will also do for Friday morning lows…

Yep… We’ll be starting in the middle to upper teens Friday morning before we see highs climb into the lower to middle 40s Friday afternoon. A quick warm-up will work in just in time for the weekend. Even though it’ll be another cool day on Saturday, look at the upper-level setup by Sunday morning…

The vigorous upper level low temporarily shifts off to our northeast. That means we’ll see highs go from the middle 40s on Saturday into the upper 50s for Sunday. It’ll be a quick break from the cold, though. After Monday’s highs in the middle 50s, the cold air returns with a good system working in by Tuesday morning…

That sends highs back into the 30s on Tuesday and brings in the cloud cover as well. If we have enough moisture and lift to work with by next Tuesday, we could see some snow showers sneak in as well…
