Monday Evening February 26th Update – Rain Chances Working Back In Soon

Good Monday evening, everyone. It certainly is nice to get a break from the freezing rain chances we dealt with last week and from the soaking rain we had over parts of the weekend. Mother Nature has heard our pleas for a calm spell and kept us quiet yesterday and today. We had mostly sunny skies all day with nice afternoon highs pushing into the middle 60s. We’ll stay quiet this evening on the radar below…

With quiet skies and a light south breeze, it’ll turn pretty cool by Tuesday morning. It won’t be bitterly cold, though, with temperatures starting in the lower 40s by the start of the morning drive…

We may start the morning out with mostly clear skies, but we’ll have an upper level wave approach from the west going into the late morning. That will mean quite a bit of cloud cover will work in, especially by lunchtime…

With that approaching wave working with some more moisture, we’ll see rain chances get going during the afternoon. No thunderstorms are expected (certainly no strong or severe t-storms), but have the rain gear handy for the drive home…

Despite the increase in the clouds and the rain chances, we’ll have the south breeze kick up to 10-20 mph during the day. That will mean a mild afternoon with highs in the middle 60s…

Going into Wednesday, we’ll have our next cold front work in from the northwest…

Ahead of the front, we’ll have another mild day with highs back in the middle 60s. Even so, the clouds will stick with us for the day and so will some rain chances…

As the cold front sweeps through, that will get the rain chances out of here Wednesday night. While we dry out, we will turn colder with the northwest wind kicking back in behind the front. That’ll mean lows Thursday starting in the middle to upper 30s. We will warm up a bit by Thursday afternoon with highs pushing into the upper 40s to 50…

Beyond Thursday, we’ll work back into the upper 50s Friday and lower 60s Saturday as we start the coming weekend on a quiet note. Come Sunday, though, we’ll have some more rain chances trying to cool us back down by early next week. We’re also watching a system or two by the middle of next week, so we’ll keep an eye on things as we roll along. Have a good night and a great Tuesday!
