Monday Afternoon May 14th – Some Severe Chances for This Afternoon & Evening

Good Monday afternoon, everyone. For most of you, it has been a warm, humid and quiet day with highs back well into the 80s. For a few spots early this afternoon, we did have some spotty strong to severe t-storms pop up. We’ll continue to watch those and other t-storms develop on the radar below for this afternoon and evening…

We will have a severe threat for this evening across most of the area from this afternoon and into early Tuesday morning. It’s a low severe threat, but the strongest of the storms will be capable of high wind and large hail…

We’re expecting t-storms to continue to develop out across central and southeastern Kansas through the early evening hours…

Any storms out west will continue to slowly work east as we head into tonight…

Any severe activity should be done once we get past midnight or 1 AM…

Beyond Tuesday, our stationary front will be right across the area and trying to drift southeast. As long as it’s still around, we’ll hold onto the cloud cover and some rain/t-storm chances for Tuesday…

As far as temperatures go, we’re expecting lows to drop back into the middle and upper 60s tonight…

For Tuesday afternoon, it should be a bit cooler than today was. Thanks to the clouds and continued rain/t-storm chances, look for highs in the lower 80s…
