Tuesday Evening – Warming Up Before Friday’s T-Storm Chances

Good Tuesday evening, everyone. We had to endure another hard freeze this morning, but I think we definitely made up for it with a pretty decent afternoon. After starting in the upper 20s, we had mostly sunny skies warm us into the lower 60s today. In the short term, we’ll continue with quiet skies with nothing to worry about on the radar below…

Even though the mostly clear skies will allow temperatures to drop off again tonight, we’ll have the south breeze pick up later tonight. That will help us out in the temperature department. Instead of middle to upper 20s, we’ll only drop back into the middle 40s by Wednesday morning…

With mostly sunny skies for Wednesday afternoon and the south breeze between 20 and 30 mph (gusts near 40 mph), that will catapult us into the middle 70s for afternoon highs…

Even with partly sunny skies on Thursday, the south breeze will continue to warm us up. We’re expecting highs near 80° for Thursday afternoon…

The next 2 days look great and will certainly feel more spring-like around here. Then, we’ll have our next system work in on Friday. Here’s how the surface map should look by 7 AM Friday…

There could be some scattered showers and t-storms in the morning, but that shouldn’t stop the south wind ahead of the front from warming us up. We’re anticipating highs climbing into the middle 70s for Friday afternoon…

Along and ahead of the front, that’s the area we’ll have to watch for afternoon t-storms to develop. We’re still keeping an eye on how things will set up by the afternoon. If the front moves through a little faster, there’s a chance that the t-storms will primarily be on the MO side and push into the Ozarks. If it’s slow to push through, like the 18Z NAM by 7 PM Friday is suggesting below, we’ll have to deal with strong to severe t-storms…

We still have time to watch it, though. We’ll definitely keep you all updated on how Friday is looking. Behind that, winter wants to make another appearance with cooler temperatures over the weekend. That shouldn’t last long as we rebound into the 60s next Monday and into the middle 70s by Tuesday. Have a good night and a great Wednesday!
